Best Day Ever – Bangkok Tuk Tuk Experience
Best Day Ever – Bangkok Tuk Tuk Experience
Bangkok, Thailand
An exploration of Bangkok’s old downtown area by tuk-tuk, a familiar feature on the city roads.
Duration of tour: 5 hours
The Tour:
Depart for the Phra Sumen Fortress where we board a tuk-tuk, a familiar sight amongst Bangkok traffic. Passing Thammasat University we alight at the Amulet Market where religious charms and traditional medicines are traded. Following this a visit is made to Wat Po, the oldest of Bangkok temples where the art of Thai massage has been taught and still practised. Continue by tuk-tuk to Phahurat market, Bangkok’s ‘little India’, dealing in cloths, ornaments and accessories, and where an Indian snack can be picked up from street vendors. Following this the character changes to Chinese with a visit of Woeng Nakorn Kasem, also known as the ‘Thieves Market’. The final stop will be made at Wat Saket, formerly used mainly for cremations. Its outstanding feature is the ‘Golden Mount’, a chedi atop an artificial hill. The tour terminates here.
Includes:
Transportation by Tuk Tuk, English speaking guide, entrance to Wat Po and Wat Saket, visits of the amulet market, Phahurat market and Woeng Nakorn Kasem market.
Please Note:
Please note that as the tour includes visits of temples it is necessary to be appropriately dressed – in this instance meaning that shoulders should not be exposed, and legs should be covered to below the knees. At the end of the tour you are free to explore further by yourself, join the guide for an optional meal, or the guide can arrange onward transport for you.
