Experience Galle, the gateway of Sri Lanka to the South. A perfect mix of Sri Lanka’s ecological and historical past combined with a busy and colorful market town.

The Tour:

Galle is a city situated on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, 119 km from Colombo. Galle is the capital city of Southern Province of Sri Lanka and it lies in Galle District. We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning by 09:00am and leave for Galle. On our way to Galle we’ll drive across the new Southern Express Highway. Our first stop will be a visit to the Galle Fort (spanning 90 acres) which was originally built by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663. This is also a World Heritage Site. A Lunch stop at Galle will be made available according to your need & time (Lunch is optional). On our way back to Colombo, visit a mask factory in the town of Ambalangoda which is famous for traditional hand carved masks & hand painted puppets. Visit the Turtle hatchery in Kosgoda which is being operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. Several species of turtles, especially the endangered hawksbill are protected here. Thereafter proceed to Colombo.

Entrances to Galle Fort and Turtle Hatchery. Transportation by air-conditioned vehicle with an English speaking driver guide for groups of 1-8 people and English Speaking Local Guide for groups of 9-10 people.

When visiting places of worship you will be required to wear appropriate attire. The pickup time will be half an hour prior to the time shown on your voucher. To confirm the actual pick up time from your hotel, please call the local supplier the day before the tour on +94 11 268 47 01 during office hours (09:00h – 18:00h) and +94-77-3742585 outside office hours. Supplement charge will apply for pick up or drop off from/to the following hotels due to its location: Berjaya Mount Royal and Mount Lavinia (38kms). An optional visit to Galle Museum can be arranged at an entrance fee of USD4.50 per person as supplement. The museum is closed on Mondays. A boat trip up the Madhu Ganga (means river in Sinhala) in a Madu Gange Boat can be arranged at USD18 per boat (maximum 6 pax) as supplement. if you prefer to do sea bathing at Bentota (depending on the condition of the sea) we could also arrange as an optional activity without extra cost.
