Kandy Full Day Excursion

Have a meaningful and unique experience as you get up close and personal with nature and explore the city of Kandy home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic as major highlight of this tour.

The Tour:

Kandy is a World Heritage Site and the last capital of the Sinhalese Kings’ era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. The name “Kandy” conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklores are still lovingly kept alive. We will pick you up from your hotel by 07:00 am in time for the 09:15 am Elephant feeding at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Here you get a chance to get real close to a large herd of elephants, follow them down to the river where you can watch them bathe and play. After visiting Pinnawala, proceed to Kandy which is approximately one hour and thirty minutes from Pinnawala. Enjoy a sightseeing tour in Kandy. A Lunch stop will be made available according to your need & time (Lunch is optional). Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, a major highlight. The Temple of Tooth or Sri Dalada Maligawa is a temple built within the royal palace complex which houses the only surviving relic of Buddha. Also visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Our last visit will be the Royal Botanical garden before returning to your hotel in Colombo.
