Kuala Lumpur Countryside and Putraja
Tour Description:
Kuala Lumpur Countryside and Putraja
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
An excursion to the administrative centre of Malaysia, and sacred temples for Buddhists and Hindus
Duration of tour: 8 hours
It’s about a 40 minute drive to Putrajaya, a planned garden city where construction began in 1995. Specifically Putrajaya was designed to replace Kuala Lumpur as the administrative centre of the federation and thus most government buildings are to be found there. View the Prime Minister’s Office, Palace of Justice, Putra Square, Seri Gemilang Bridge, Putra Mosque, Millenium Monument and the central lake. In the afternoon visit the Thean Hou Temple, dedicated to the Heavenly Mother before arriving at the Batu Caves. This Hindu shrine celebrates Lord Murugan, whose magnificent gold statue stands guard at the foot of the stairway leading up to the caves. Returning to Kuala Lumpur visit the Chocolate Gallery and a local handicraft centre.
